So as we understand Opvs was originally a duo, what made you decide to pursue solo acts, and do you have any plans to collaborate in the future?
Sean and I worked together for over two years growing Opvs, and it is crazy to look back at some of the things we were able to achieve together. He definitely made me a significantly better producer, and I think it is safe to say neither of us would be where we are at today without leaning on each other.
As a duo it can get hard to find your own artistic vision, and that is what we were struggling with. Making music is such a personal experience, and it can get hard to try to translate the state of mind you are trying to express in a song to someone else. Both of us grew a lot and started taking our sounds to different places, so we thought rather than hold each other back, lets just go for it on our own. We are still very good friends and support each other in any way possible, so I am excited to see where he takes his sound!
We aren’t collaborating on music at the moment but we are going to be playing a show together at the Mercury Lounge on April 28. I’ll be in the crowd wilding for his set and him for mine so I’m really looking forward to that.

VRS.US so great to have you on board! Can you give us a little background on you (your life, what got you into music, any other background that may be important) to start for the people who may not be familiar with you?
Thanks mate, it's great to be doing this release with you. My path in music started in rock music, before starting VRS.US I was playing with Dead Letter Circus on guitar and keys. That experience really shaped my interest in honing my skills in song writing. As I started to get more into electronic music I was really appreciating all the weird and futuristic sounds that could be made outside of a standard rock context. I guess that curiosity was the spark that started VRS.US.

What was it like to perform at your first show, what emotions were you feeling? Have you ever been anywhere in public and heard your music playing, if so, what did that feel like?
Being on stage is where I actually feel most myself and completely comfortable! Of course I get a little nervous sometimes but something my dance teacher told me years ago that always stuck with me was “Butterflies mean you care, if you didn’t feel a thing then it obviously doesn’t mean anything to you’. Its such a rush! I've been working out at the gym and shopping and heard a recent collaboration I did with Mashd N Kucther “Need Me” playing on the speakers…. The first time that happened to me, I filmed the entire thing so I could remember it forever because it was such a dream come true!!! completely surreal but AMAZING! So this is the first release of 2018 and it’s definitely going to make a splash because it’s absolutely amazing! What can your fans look look forward to for the rest of 2018?
Thank you! I have a ton planned for this year. I’m really challenging myself super hard to release much more music, much more consistently this year. My fans are absolutely amazing, and they’ve been so patient for so long, so I want to give them as much music as I can this year. Aside from that I just launched the first piece of my clothing line here (lione.merchtable.com), and am super excited about it. I’ve wanted to design and make clothing for so long now, so it’s a pipe dream to see it come to fruition. I’m planning on expanding and building that alongside my music and playing shows, so very busy but very exciting this year haha!

How long have you been making music and how did you discover your unique style?
Whats good! I’ve been making music for a while, exploring different genres from hip hop to big room EDM before I settled into my zone where I’m at now, and I really feel like that process led me to the prefect place. I think as a musician it’s important to try different things and learn about different genres so you can bring more to the table when you sit down to write songs.
